How holiday data is reviewed

What we include

Nationwide public holidays, substitute/make-up days that affect travel, high-impact festivals, and travel-peak notices. State, province, canton, city and patron-saint holidays are not exhaustive. A multi-day public record may be an announced public-sector closure window—not a claim that every day is a separate statutory holiday.

How we review

We prioritise official gazettes, cabinet/ministry holiday tables and authoritative public calendars; festival dates prefer organiser or official event pages. After a country review we store a review date and data fingerprint; JSON changes require re-review. Per-entry sources keep openable original links where available.

Status labels

• Confirmed

  Confirmed: country review against official or authoritative public sources; fingerprint matches current data.

• Provisional

  Provisional: reviewed, but some dates (e.g. religious calendars or next-year joint decrees) may still change.

• Pending review

  Pending review: no country review record yet; dates may update—re-check official sources before travel.

Sources on detail pages

Holiday detail pages show entry-level source links (when present), the country review status and last-reviewed date, plus a link back here. If a link is missing, use the country calendar notes and official notices.

Dates follow official sources where possible. If something looks wrong, or you want another country/city for lodging heat, use the form below—or email us. Official links are appreciated.
